Badlands NHSRA Challenge About Us

The Badlands NHSRA Challenge is one of five National High School Rodeo Association Western Legacy Rodeo Series events that are designed to offer a unique experience to current NHSRA members. The Badlands Challenge rodeo is the first one of the series each year and has called home in Bowman North Dakota since its inception in 2019. This rodeo is becoming more and more popular with the growing jackpot payouts that attract contestants from all over the lower 48 states. Our goal at the Badlands is to produce a high-quality event giving competitors an opportunity to compete against other athletes that they may not see during the high school rodeo season at home. Also having a chance at payouts and prizes that reward them for their efforts. The Badlands rodeo is a two go round event that pays in both rounds and on the average. Our unique format allows high school and junior high to compete against each other in all the events we offer, excluding the rough stock events and steer wrestling. Our junior high contestants compete for the opportunity to win money in our incentive payouts as well as being eligible for payouts in the main round and average money. The partnership with outstanding sponsors, the NHSRA and local volunteers help make events like this one possible. We are committed to making the Badlands NHSRA Challenge an experience that is one to remember. Congratulations to our past champions and we look forward to seeing the up-and-coming generation of great cowboys and cowgirls!
